Sustainability Pledge


"BUCK THE JUICE"

"I pledge to help Cal Poly Pomona's climate commitment and sustainability efforts.  This year, I will commit to these new ways of reducing my own environmental impact."

 Please check all that apply.

ENERGY
Turn off the lights when you leave a room.
Plug appliances, chargers, etc. into power strips and turn off when not in use.
Use energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL).
Set sleep mode on my computer and monitor.
Wash clothes in cold or warm water.
Use a clothes line or drying rack instead of a dryer.
Adjust my AC/Heater thermostat up 7 degrees in summer & down 8 degrees in winter.
Walk, bike, carpool, take the bus / Bronco Express, and/or Metrolink / Bronco Link.
Take the stairs.
FOOD
Purchase local and seasonal produce. (ex. Cal Poly Pomona's Farm Store)
Eat more organic food.
Eat less meat.
WATER
Take shorter showers.
Turn off the water while brushing your teeth.
Drink tap water instead of bottled water.
WASTE
Use reusable utensils, cups, and dishes.
Recycle everything you can.
Purchase recycled paper.
Use both sides of paper when printing and making copies.
